Group one: In Honour of the Air Force
This serigraph shows King Solomon sitting on one side and writing his Book of Proverbs. In the center are the riddles from the Book of Proverbs:
"There are three things which are too wonderful for me; Yea, four which I know not, The way of an eagle in the air; The way of a serpent upon a rock; The way of a ship in the midst of the sea; And the way of a man with a young woman"

(Proverbs 30:18-19)
The four parts of the ancient riddle are shown in the picture, creating a scene with a dreamlike or mythical character. Indeed. these enigmatic verses have fascinated many before me. Israel's greatest poet, Bialik, took them as the basis for a beautiful fable, which is known to every child in Israel. Elements from it and from its special atmosphere have crept into this image: the mysterious castle on the desert island and the atmosphere of a legend. These verses from Proverbs were chosen first and foremost because of the eagle mentioned in them and the symbolic meaning of its flight in the air for the Air Force.
