Biography

Jászberény was his native town. He was here at school. He got his first diplom here in the Teachers' Training School. He declared himself proudly as a man of country Jász.
He finished the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest as student of Aurél Bernáth, László Bencze and Bertalan Pór. He was exhibitor artist from 1951. Even in this year he became the figure drawing professor of the Academy of Applied Arts. He retired on a pension from here in 1984. He was an excellent professor, he started a lot of creative artists into life.
He himself also took active part in the life of fine arts manysidedly. He had a part at the great National Exhibitions and at the Aquarelle Biennals of Eger steadily, where he won the first prize many times.
Simultaneously with the teaching he was excited deeply by professional subjects, technical problems: large-size water colours, gobelins, glass windows, then leather compositions, he acted each on high level until the end of his life.
At the beginning of seventies he took pains with great energy to revive the serigraph technique from its apparent death. He summarized his results of this field at the exhibition in 1977 in the Art-Gallery in Budapest composed of his artistic large scale sheets.
His large-sized leather reliefs: the cover of restroom of the Congress Hall, the 3,5 square metreleather relief in Tokaj Restaurant in Paris inlaid works with wood.
Glass-windows: Wine-Estate Pannonhalma, Public Bath Gellért in Budapest, County Hall in Veszprém.
Scolarships: Soviet Union, Romania, Czehoslovakia, German Democratic Republic, Italy, German Federal Republic
Prizes: Golden Medal of Order of labour, Eminent Worker of the Public Education.
