Studied glass at the Hungarian Academy of Craft and Design in 1968–73. His masters included Frigyes Pogány, György Jánossy, György Z. Gács, Lajos Szabó and József Gibela. Since 1976 he has taught at the Hungarian Academy, later University of Craft and Design as senior lecturer, then university professor. The major interests of his career evolved during his academic years: he designed jewellery, drinking sets and illuminator systems using coloured glass.

The overriding feature of his art is the adoption of the handicraft traditions as proven by his glass pieces melted onto theirs surface and the iridescent pieces also favoured by art nouveau. In his iridescent glass vessels—vases, bowls, glasses—plastic modelling echoing vegetal forms has salience. Apart from creating such glass objects, since the 1980s he has been researching the interplay of light and glass as testified by several lamps. He gave over his plastic luminous module elaborated in 1989 and patented under the brand name RENDEK (Orders) to the Tokod Glass Factory for production.

Member of the Hungarian Art Fund, later MAOE (1973–), MKISZ (1978–), of the Hungarian Glass Art Society (1999–), founding member of the MANUAL group (1975–), ordinary member of the Széchenyi Academy of Literature and Arts (1993–), member of the Péter-Pál Gallery in Szentendre (1980–) and founding member of the Mestermű Gallery in Veszprém (1993).
